Beauty in numbers
Despite not always thriving exactly as we’d envisioned, plants can really enrich our space and compliment one another in a group setting. The ‘jungle’ effect of having a number of plants grouped together in a room creates a completely different effect to that offered by a stand alone pot plant.
Ease of maintenance
Simply put, maintaining plants of similar watering needs in one location is more convenient than moving from room to room to tend to a wide variety of plants with different needs. Potted jungles are less labor-intensive than tending to a garden. They let you access your creativity and develop your green thumb, minus all the weeding. Indoor plants are also less likely to be affected by pests and diseases.
You can garden anytime
There’s no need to wait for perfect conditions to stretch one’s green thumb. Those who love gardening can tend to their plants or extend their potted jungle any time, any day.
Being water wise
Ground based planting requires more water than container gardening. Water loss through evaporation is minimal in potted plants as it only happens from the top layer of soil. However, potted plants have limited access to water, unlike plants in the ground whose roots can access moisture deep into the ground, so soil dampness needs to be checked fairly regularly.
